Cultivating creativity, research & innovation

True to its name, Conservatory Residency is both a place to explore the act of preserving and nurture artistic talent. Originally a greenhouse that formed part of the Labassa estate, our heritage listed 19th century British conservatory presents a unique setting for artists, historians, architects and people from all sectors to engage with Australian place identity across time and history.

Conservatory Residency awards recipients a fully-funded arts residency that provides dedicated time and space away from the everyday for experimentation and exploration.

“It is a place where plants are on the outside and ideas inside” - Léna Pangalo, Founder & Director.
